Born to a German father and Thai mother in Bangkok, and having lived in Germany and Singapore, Christian initially moved to Queensland’s Gold Coast as an overseas student in 1999. He completed his Bachelor of Communication at Bond University, Graduate Diploma in Ministry Studies at Christian Heritage College, and Master of Arts in Ministry at Harvest Bible College. Christian has been in ministry since 2001. In that time, he has served as young adult pastor, associate pastor and teaching pastor at Hope Church Varsity Lakes, chaplain at Bond University, and lecturer and principal of Hope Bible College. Christian joined Parramatta Christian Church as assistant pastor in December 2022.
Christian’s passion in ministry is seeing people genuinely love God with heads and hearts, have a faith marked by right thinking and feeling, and know God deeply and worship him passionately. Christian has creative communication and pastoral care gifts. This means that he loves seeing people have “eureka a-ha” moments when something profound has been illuminated to them from the scriptures; and witnessing individuals in need be genuinely helped in real and practical ways.
Christian has been married to Michelle since 2004, and they have two wonderful children – Immanuel and Theodore. Christian likes fantasy and science fiction books, films, and games, and loves discovering how the redemptive narrative can point to the “unknown God” (Acts 17:23). He enjoys cooking and eating good food with others, strength and conditioning training, and most health and fitness activities.
